Q: How early should calligraphy be booked?
A: The earlier the better! Availability is limited so please contact me early to book time in my schedule. Wedding etiquette recommends Save the Dates be mailed out 5-10 months before the wedding date, and invitations be mailed 6-8 weeks prior to the event. Turn around time for addressing is about 100 envelopes per week, plus time for shipping. Please include time for discussions about any specific vision you may have for color or style. I am happy to help you make your vision into a reality!
Q: What is the process for booking services?
A: After you contact me and send details about your project, I will give you a price quote. 50% of the quoted price is required to book your project. The remaining 50% will be due upon completion of your project.
Q: Where are you located?
A: I am located in beautiful Mountain View, California in the heart of Silicon Valley. I am happy to be a beacon of paper and pen to my tech savvy corner of the world.
Q: Do you design wedding invitations?
A: I currently do not design invitations, but I can provide a digital version of the wedding couple's calligraphed names to be sent to your invitation designer.
Q: How do you price personalized chalkboards and signs and what is the process for creating them?
A: Each sign is unique and pricing is often determined by the size of the sign, materials needed, and the length of what needs to be written. Prior to working on your sign, I will discuss with you what your vision for the sign is, as well as specifics about size, colors, specific content or visuals, etc. and give you a preliminary price quote. After booking, I will usually sketch up to 3 rough draft ideas that you will pick from and give me any feedback that you have. I will then refine that draft up to two more times before settling on a final draft. After we have agreed on a final design I will make your chalkboard or sign.
Q: What about shipping costs?
A: All shipping costs are the responsibility of the client and will be included in the final invoice. The final invoice must be paid prior to your completed project being shipped.
